Arcana 5 The Hierophant in the destiny matrix
The five in the destiny matrix is the Hierophant: an eternal teacher and an eternal student. The energy of knowledge, tradition and authority. In its strong version the person passes on experience and explains complex things in simple words, in its weak version he fights for the right to be the only one who's correct.
Energy in the plus
- A born teacher who explains complex things clearly
- Constantly learns and shares what they've learned
- Relies on traditions, knows their lineage and keeps family rules
- Reliable, responsible, loves order
- An authority for others, people come to them for advice
- A good speaker and mentor
Energy in the negative
- Inner conflict: wanted one thing, family demanded another, ended up doing work they don't love
- Excessive adherence to rules, the letter matters more than the essence
- Doesn't share knowledge, afraid someone might become better
- Obsessed with their own truth, doesn't accept other opinions
- Divides the world into black and white
- Pressures with authority or slips into passive aggression
- Ends up surrounded by ungrateful students and loses strength
What this energy is
The five is about transmission. Knowledge, experience, tradition, rule: everything that can be taken from the previous generation and passed on to the next. Such a person is most often the one people come to for answers, and this is their natural role, even if they don't teach anywhere formally.
The Hierophant needs a system of coordinates. They need something to believe in and rely on, whether it's religion, a professional school, or family rules. Without support, the five gets lost.
The shadow of the five is that rules start living instead of the person. Then a double standard appears: others can't, but they themselves can, or vice versa. And a fear appears that the student might surpass the teacher, so knowledge starts being shared in small doses.
The Hierophant in different points of the matrix
- In the center life is built around learning: first their own, then others'. Such a person is almost always suited to teaching in any form.
- In personal points it gives weight and seriousness, others read them as knowledgeable.
- In the relationship zone the five brings rules and the expectation that the partner will share them. Here it's easy to slip into raising the partner instead of loving them.
- In the money zone income comes through knowledge: teaching, expertise, mentorship, consulting.
- In the family line the theme of traditions and family scenarios of profession, when the choice of who to become was already made for the person.
How to turn the five to the plus
- Check whether you're doing your own thing, or someone else's choice from your youth. This is the main question of the five.
- Give knowledge generously. The five fills up when teaching, and empties when holding back.
- Allow that others can be right too. You don't have to agree, it's enough to listen.
- Don't raise your partner. In relationships the five needs to take off the robe.
- Check rules for viability: is this my own belief, or was I just told this by my family.

What does the five mean in the destiny matrix?
The five is the fifth arcana, the Hierophant. The energy of knowledge, tradition and mentorship. In the plus the person teaches and passes on experience, in the minus they live by other people's rules and cling to their own righteousness.
Is the five necessarily connected to religion?
No. It's about a system of views and support in general. It can be a professional school, family traditions, professional ethics, not only faith.
Why does the five sometimes end up in a job they don't love?
Because the five is strongly tied to family and its expectations. Often the choice was made by parents, and the person lives with someone else's decision for decades.
